runnincoug Intervention Needed
America, in general, excels at a huge variety of mediocre food.
Our system prioritizes cheap food, and lots of options, but not really excellent options. The good news is our floor is higher than the floor for other cuisines, and food in America is always "pretty good." But it is rarely as great as you get in other countries.

Chocolate is another good example. It's good ... it's not nasty like you might get in China, but it's also not great like you get in Europe. It's just ... cheap and ok.
