Utah. The story goes that law enforcement arrested the teens based on some really flimsy reasons. They were accused of public intoxication or something of the sort. Apparently when the boys were being arrested they were being roughed up by law enforcement pretty good.
They were taken to the local holding cell which just happened to burn down the next day. The family believed the teen boys were beaten to death and a fire was set as a way to cover up the crime.
I love the rule of law, I respect law enforcement but I’m so grateful for body cameras, cameras and modern day accountability measures. I can only imagine the pain and heartbreak of my great great grandparents learning that their teen sons had burned alive or had been beaten to death while in the custody of the law.
