The experience you are describing is something BYU covers in the form of

EFY and sports camps.

I have no problem with campus tours literally being campus tours for people who are just curious what the campus looks like.

I guess it just does not bother me if students from Utah choose other schools because they have a more fun tour. If anything that’s a good thing, I don’t want BYU to be the only desirable school for students.

We’ve just done self-guided and focused tours at BYU. Helps to live locally and know multiple faculty and staff.
