Mark Pope was NEVER universally loved by our fanbase. There was too much resentment in the inner circles of BYU's own

athletic community. (Some of whom had more ties & loyalty to the yewt program than they do with ours.)

BYU has a harder time moving on from an unpopular firing than most places. We're not wired to do that — & the losers in those transactions will take advantage of that. And take quite a few of the fan base with them.
