I've looked at this before. 11 win P5 teams would've generally always made it.

10 win teams would USUALLY make it if they were Big Ten or SEC, but not if they were other leagues.

The problem is, because of massive 16-18 team conferences schedules are unbalanced and the number of 10+ win teams will be higher as a result. If and when that happens, who gets cut? The extra 10-2 SEC/Big Ten teams? Or the 11-2/11-1 ACC and Big 12 teams?
