It cannot be denied that the powers that be prefer other programs over BYU even when the BYU resume is objectively better over the past 30 years. It’s the reality. OBJECTIVELY, BYU should be ranked higher in the AP & Coaches polls. Yes those polls are meaningless (kind of) but they do heavily influence the opinion of millions of people for the first 9–10 weeks of the season. They do determine how many eyeballs see BYU play. They do determine how many tv and radio programs discuss BYU and they really do influence the perception of playoff selection committees. It’s just the way it is.

Whatever the reason, and there are a few to choose from, BYU does not get favorable treatment or even fair treatment on things like this. I don’t think they make the playoff with a single loss. I just don’t.
