Several schools, even private ones like Stanford and Baylor, have either done massive renovations or constructed new
stadiums. Why do you consider this beyond the realm of reality?

At a cost of $256M in 2010. Safe to say that a similar renovation would cost much more today. All for 7-8 events per yr.

What was the financial structure of those particular examples? Who paid for it?

Stanford’s was paid for by donors. Baylor brand new stadium cost $250m and $180 of it was paid by donors.
