where playing the game against Utah was just a formality. It was a game where BYU fans knew the beat down on Utah was almost certain. There was little doubt or anxiety.

And when those rare unthinkable events occurred (one of which made Scott Mitchell famous although he shouldn't be) we knew the team would get payback in the following years.

Then something changed but BYU didn't. Hopefully the pendulum has swung back for a long time.
