I have been a BYU fan for 50 years. I lived in Michigan for 5 years and then in Seattle for 10 years. During those times I always cheered for Utah and said they were my second favorite team. I had BYU and Utah gear. To many in the midwest, the average fan did not know the difference between Utah and BYU. They were all dang Mormons and polygamists' out there. Then I moved back to Utah about 8 years ago and I have moved into the camp of the Utah haters. I have family members and lots of friends that are Utah fans (Very few logical fun to talk to Utes) and most of them are insufferable jerks that have given me crap and can not look at any thing BYU with any logic. I was excited when we found that they would be in the same conference again and then at a press conference asking Kyle if he was happy to be back in a conf with his rival he said "Who is our Rival? We have lots of Rivals!" The fact that as a BYU Alum he can never say anything good about BYU or even say their name while being great buds with Kalani has really made it hard to cheer for him and his team. And all the Utah Fans that were like "We are too good for this Truck Stop conf"! This is going to be an easy win for us to take the conf! I don't see us having any trouble and I see us winning the conf and then in a few years we will be going to the Big 10 where we really belong! Yeah, now I cheer against them and don't feel one bit bad! I hope they lose every freaking game!
