So the point of this story is that... Peyton was mad that he tried to catch it with one hand, rather than diving to try to catch with two.
It wasn't that he dropped it, which all receivers do, and which couldn't be solved by humiliating them.
It was that he tried to catch it with one hand rather than two and to never do that again.
