Florence is really good to visit, but it also depends on what you're looking for
Florence is a nice city with the architecture and museums. However, there are some other great places to visit in Italy such as Herculaneum and Pompeii (from Rome or Naples) as well as port cities like Santa Margherita/Portofino. Italy is a hard one because there are so many great places to visit.
