lots of Italian Renaissance master paintings - Giotto, Da Vinci, Botticelli, Michelangelo's one painting not done on a wall and a few Baroque ones too (Caravaggio, Gentileschi). The Bargello Museum has the statues - Michelangelo, Verrocchio, Donatello.
- Also worth a visit - Santa Maria Novella, right by the main train station, and Santa Croce, both are gothic churches filled with Renaissance art. Near Santa Croce, stop for gelato at Vivoli. One of Italy's best gelato places.
DEFINITELY book reservations for the Accademia and the Uffizi if you do go - otherwise the wait might be hours to get in.
