guess that less than once a decade would a champ team from any G6 league have enough talent and a good enough team to actually compete. Not every conf champ deserves a spot. Maybe every champ that meets some ranking threshold. For example, Liberty played 13 games last year, won them all. Only played one team with a pulse. Lucked into the CFP final top 25 and were dismantled by Oregon. Liberty did not belong on the field and I think that's how it will look most years. And in this CFP IMO most years the 5/12 game will be something very similar. IMO no G5 team last year "deserved" an NY6 spot. MAYBE SMU did.
