I understand where you’re coming from, but

I don’t think it’s ok for us as an institution—meaning both BYU and the church—to demand special treatment or expect others to donate goods and services to us for free or significantly below market value.

We should play fair and pay a fair wage. If a top player is worth an honest $4M per yr in today’s market, you don’t short him. Pay him what he’s worth and be humble and grateful you had the means to do so.
