Church had the chance to bet Gettysburg college
Great location close to Philly Baltimore and dc. Plenty of land to expand, and it’s Gettysburg not some lost and isolated place like buena vista.
Church chose not to. Why? To expensive.
Maybe instead of colleges, they should start some votechs

UVU serves a good purpose in UT county: a lower entry bar for an education.

What would be the reasoning? I think it would benefit out-of-state kids in favor

They should put a campus in south Florida to benefit the Latin American church population

You know, I can't think of a good reason the church shouldn't have a Latin American university. Yes, it's expensive

Strong leadership and faculty aligned with the church don’t grow on trees.

That sounds like an argument *for* BYU-Mexico or BYU-Brazil, not against.

I bet among the latin american countries, and the church world-wide, there would be enough members you could draw to

Maybe some day, but for now BYU Pathway is the primary educational program for international students

No. UVU is where all the attractive LDS women go. Even BYU guys will

That would be a very recent development then

That all changed in the 90's thanks to rising academic standards

BYU was still winning that recognition in the 2010s

Good point...Medical school might push opening other campuses
