Couldn't disagree more. If Utah were to add 10,000 single family homes currently
being used as rentals to the SLC market, the supply of homes would lower prices to buy. Those needing to rent would move to the multi-family inventory. It would be a temporary fix of a few years until the demand once again exceeded the supply.
