If I was moving to take a job in Columbia, I'd be looking at Ashland/Southern

Boone County probably. Although I'd personally prefer to be outside Boone County because their politics are so far left. But if you want close to Columbia here's new construction for 2300-2500 SF homes for about $350k

With WFH, I think housing has somewhat started to level a bit. Still some big discrepancies though.
