A quick glance on Zillow says that similar homes in Missouri
Are roughly the same price as my home in North Utah County. I tried to pick a random city and ended up with Columbia. Two homes were about 20% less and one was about 15% more. All the rest (about 10 or so) were within 10% and most were within 5%.

Maybe I have to move to rural Missouri to get the savings?

I'll admit that I've tried this with other cities in the midwest over the years as I've considered job opportunities and haven't found a huge savings from moving.

Maybe I am just doing it wrong and don't know where to look.
