Your article shared notwithstanding. Most research shows liberals have less well-being than conservatives, and more anxiety, other co-variates being controlled.
And this should not be surprising. Inherent in liberalism is the idea that something is wrong in society, and we need to deconstruct old ideas, and rebuild new ones to fix things. That's the "progressive" part of progressivism ... that we are changing to something new to fix things while "conservatives" are conservative about change because they feel like what we have is pretty good and we should be hesitant to change things. This goes back to Marxist ideas about deconstruction and rebuilding, and conservative ideas about strict adherence to the constitution and not re-interpreting it anew.
