Fous will score more points, part of the reason he likely won't start
Keita is basically gonna score on dunks and layups. He won't take shots from guys and doesn't need the offense to run through him to put up numbers. He'll blend well with shot makers and is a better fit for a coach who wants to shoot a lot of 3's and layups. Similar to why Pope never put Fous back in the starting lineup is for Fous to be effective he needs the ball in his hands and the offense to change. You see a game like Oklahoma where DH and FT basically had the ball 95% of the time when he was in, you see why you can't run that type of O in today's basketball. You also have seen good defenses that can turn Fous into a net negative. You can't do that with Keita because his game isn't predicated on needing the ball.

Where Fous will shine is when he gets the right matchup like we saw with WVU or TCU or Texas. He can come off the bench, put up 25 points and be a tremendous asset in those situations. Then we ll get the reaction and have the 1990s CB collective wondering why he doesn't start and play 40 minutes a game because he reminds them of Charles Barkley because he's short and plays the post. The biggest issue with Fous is he's a situational player in the Big 12. It's not about hot and cold, good or bad games. It's about the matchup and he just isn't playable in some matchups. UCF and Iowa State and Baylor didn't happen because Pope was a bad coach. He just isn't playable against some systems. He's awesome to have on the team, but he's still situational
