over a decade now. SoCal might have had the top couple of athletes on the field in a lot of those contests with Utah, but the overall team has not been recruited well in a while.
Outside of 2021 when the Utes got to sneak in two victories vs Oregon, Oregon was 7-2 vs Utah during the Utes' PAC12 era. I wouldn't call that being "regularly" beaten.
I'm not saying Utah hasn't been good or that KWhitt hasn't recruited well at Utah. He has. But KWhitt wants to go down as the best coach in the state of Utah history, and he can't do that without a national title. He's been aiming for a national title these past few seasons, only to find out he doesn't have enough athletes and talent to best 3rd place finishers out of the B1G. Close, but still not quite enough.
