The reality is — the best players don’t want to play at 4,400 ft. elevation. They don’t want to play in snowy conditions, in the cold etc… because they don’t have to — they have options.
Hmmmm… where to play? Provo or Tucson, SoCal, southern Texas, Florida, GA, Mississippi etc… with few exceptions, the warm weather locations are more appealing to a young man with options.
BYU baseball best hope is to land a few overlooked ball players who happen to be really good and then hope to keep them around. Provo is never going to be an attractive destination for the best ball players.
