Last time we hit three police stops/checkpoints driving to Valladolid. Two of them waived us right through. The third wanted to see our passports. My niece only had a photo of hers. The other three of us had photocopies. He was cool with that and let us on our way. I might have caught him off guard by speaking Spanish with him. I don’t know. I really think they were looking for someone in particular because I have never seen a checkpoint on that highway before.
