SportUTE Walk-on
1st post after a decade hiatus due to recent events...
I wish you all the best in the Big XII after the sojourn in the wilderness so-to-speak...

Bummed about the implosion of the PAC-12 to be completely honest. It was all over but the crying after USC/UCLA bolted for the B1G. Absolutely brutal for Stanford/Cal/WSU/OSU

I'm active LDS, returning to live in Utah 2 years ago after 25 years of absence 😃

Conference separated athletics was actually nice and I'm gonna miss it. I don't dislike it, I'm just apathetic about BYU but I try to be complimentary when you have success. I have a lot of family, friends and ward members that are alumns/fans so I try to be a good conversationalist when it comes up. Now that we are both competing in the same league again it will turn uglier if the past is any indicator. No me gusta

Probably wrong but my best guess at the conference structure:

Mountain/Central Division of AZ/ASU/UT/BYU/CO/KS/KSU/ISU

Central/Eastern Division of TT/UH/BU/TCU/OSU/UC/WV/UCF

Play round robin in your Division every year and a Home/Away grouping in the other Division to minimize the cross-country travel as much as possible.

Texas is crucial for everyone recruiting-wise, important to play at least 1 Texas school every year.

If I were to tier the conference in Football, based on past 10-15 year performance with a heavier emphasis on most recent 4 complete seasons (i.e.: exclude 2020 COVID):

S - Oklahoma State / Utah

A- TCU / Baylor / Kansas State

B - UCF / Cincy / West Va / Arizona State and a fast rising Colorado (Coach Prime effect - A/S tier in 2-3 years)

C - BYU / Texas Tech / Houston / Iowa State

D - Arizona

F - Kansas

First 3 years are going to be rough for you guys because of depth of talent & injuries. You don't want to hear it and won't believe it but it's going to happen.

2011-2012 were by far Utah's worst years of the last 15, TCU's worst for over a 12 year span was 2012-2013 and Colorado's decline in 2011-2012 was so brutal they just barely recovered, having only one decent season in the PAC-12. Hope that doesn't happen to the BYU.

Not looking to be a fixture around here or anything, but these moves are definitely interesting and worth chiming in on.
