But you do have to actually watch them and compare what’s happening. But you denigrate that as “the old eye test” as though stats always tell the whole tale. I think that’s lazy.
And I didn’t respond to the OP. I responded to you saying he’s a “better” version of Beck. I said he’s more athletic, but not a better passer. And yeah, I’d probably put him closer to Beck than Detmer, but to be honest even that’s somewhat an argument from ignorance on my part, because I’ve watched fewer total plays of Detmer.
Yes, I actually believe that stats don’t always tell the whole story, and you can learn more an individual player by watching all of his plays.
But you do think that Hall is a better passer than “Senior year Beck”?
