First stage was successful. 94 miles and 5000ft of climbing. 3000ft were in the last 20 miles which made it extra fun. Wind was at our back on the way out of Page, then in our face on the way into Kanab. On the big climbs through the canyon headed north, the wind couldn't make up it's mind on which way to blow. All in all, hardest day is in the books and we're feeling pretty good.
Traffic was pretty good and most people gave us plenty of room. Highway shoulders were adequate.
Day 2 will be the longest at 115 miles but less climbing.
