It is because you are the oldest (and probably the most overpaid) member of the
Station. This is vey common in companies that have a new owner, they trim the proverbial fat to make their product more profitable. The first to go are the oldest/highest salaries, especially when they have become more uncontrollable and unconscious about what they say and do.
