Hint: that was based on revenue distributions BEFORE the new TV deal that took effect in Fall 2020
BYU doesn’t make it public, but I doubt ESPN pays us above and beyond what Boise or the average AAC team gets under its new deal. A lot of folks have tried to make credible estimations based on data available and everyone of those ranges between $4-7 million. If you have something that shows differently, please share. Otherwise you don’t have anything to discredit my underlying assumption.

In case you missed my point, whether we join the AAC or not has absolutely nothing to do with money. Whatever gap might exist could easily be bridged. The issue is whether TH can continue to put together schedules with 5 plus P5 teams on them. That results in more exposure. If that becomes harder or we get cut out by the P5 in the long run, then expect us to join the AAC. If we don’t, then it is the status quo. I really don’t understand what is so hard about understanding this.
