RE: My scouting report on Troy.
1. MTSU is not BYU. In fact MTSU was called awful, abysmal, terrible by a number of analysts including myself. While Troy ran up 49, it really did not get motoring until late in the 2nd quarter.
2. Huge difference between playing MTSU and BYU defensively. I watched MTSU LBs get to holes and simply not wrap up. Tackling was extremy poor. A lot of 1st down runs by troy will be 3rd down stops at the LOS.
3. I do like LaVell Edward's offensive philosophy to establish the pass on order to open it up for the run. We invented it. I suspect we have people that know how to defend it. I personally wish Grimes would stop attempting to be Robert Anae and do what you correctly observed Troy doing. Passing to establish the run is LES genius, something our last three/OC's keep forgetting.
