Even the Rebuttal admits that long term social distancing is not a viable
option ("Ioannidis is right that the prospect of intense social distancing for months or years is one that can hardly be imagined, let alone enacted."). Instead, he believes it's just also equally unacceptable to let the virus run its course.
If it's inevitable that the virus is going to run its course, what are were destroying our economy for, especially when you consider the amount of human suffering that will result from a global depression and all of its attenuated social and physiological costs?
