I like it because it rewards the season. These teams that get hot one week

and upset the top dog(s) and send teams that trudged through the entire season home doesn't buy it for me.

I understand if that's you're only way into the tourney, it's like hitting the lottery (I imagine), but I've always understood the conference tourneys were designed for TV dollars and not for the sake of the sport, so protecting the top teams makes sense to me.
