Uhm.... it's called "...retro.." a nod back in time to the good old days...
... it's why oldies music stations, drive-ins/diners...B/W photo effects on your camera phones... even clothing trends cycle back.
People like it. It's comforting. Not everything about life today is perfect or better than what we had in the 40s-50s-60s etc.
It's harmless and many think it's fun.
