You could begin by looking at the really bad coaches who have been in the Pac-12
recently. Alford at UCLA was a disaster. I can’t believe that Kent at Washington State still has a job. Rkmar was awful at Washington. The succession of coaches at Cal have been a joke. Miller at Arizona hasn’t really done anything with the best talent that money can buy. Throw in the top recruiters at Arizona and USC getting arrested.
I really don’t see a single national quality coach in the Pac 12. Without the high pedigree coach, you don’t get the high pedigree talent. Without the talent you get incredibly mediocre performances throughout the conference.
