You might end up seeing more. Let's say he simply doesn't want me to see his
posts. Rather than posting in FO where only 80 people see what he's posting, with the recip ignore he can just block what I see of his.
FO is basically a recip ignore of everyone except 80 or so people. FO has its purpose, but if you're just trying to avoid a few posters, that's overkill.
The recip ignore helps someone feel comfortable to post MORE often in Gen Pop.
