We don't watch TV in our house. Kids have Amazon and Netflix for their
cartoons and I subscribe to MLB.tv and NFL for the sports I want. I don't know how much I save (if I save anything at all) with the packages I buy, but I get to watch every Mariners and Seahawks game regardless of location, opponent, blackout rules, etc.
Outside of that, I don't have time for tv, my wife doesn't watch tv, and my kids are happy with on-demand content they get from the other services so there's no point in us getting cable.

Dish does have the best options for streaming on other devices (and away from home) of the traditional offerings.
