When I cut the cord I was paying $85/month
and we watched about 60 hours of TV a month. That came out to about $1.40 per hour of TV. Is watching an hour of Sportscenter worth that? No way. Even a BYU game, that we can easily watch at a friend's house, at $5.60 for 4 hours is a stretch.

So now we use our savings to buy more movies and TV shows. In one sense, it's like the difference between renting and buying, but for your entertainment content. We're not spending all that we're saving either.

Also, to make it feel like we were getting our money's worth we'd leave the TV on all day, even though no one was watching it. That was a horrible habit. By cutting the cord we had a lot more peace and quiet in our house.
