Question on why people cord-cut..
I'm 41. I teeter on the generation of cord cutters, but haven't done it and don't see myself doing it. I currently pay $129 per month for TV, Internet, Phone (we still have it). I have 3 TVs, DVR, HD, and EVERY channel on Comcast, premiums included. Thank you Google Fiber for setting up in my neighborhood and spooking Comcast into needing to provide a better bundle.

My question is what is the motivation for cutting? Is it..

Saving money?
Outsmarting the system?
Cutting channels you don't want?
Niche programming?
Better programming?

I recently helped my brother get set up in his new house. To "cord cut" to get what he wanted, it was going to cost $40/month for 50 mbps Internet and $35 for Sling TV (Orange plus Sports for P12 Network). At the end of the day, doing the 120+ package on Comcast was about the same price as doing Internet through Comcast and Sling TV. He wouldn't have saved money. So I'm curious as to the motivation.

Thanks! 5 weeks to Portland State!
