I expect my kids to do their best, because even though Google has found no relation between GPA and top performers - the rest of the world has not. Will more companies stop putting such an emphasis on GPAs in the future, maybe, but it can't hurt to do your best - GPA may be the only thing that separates you from another candidate some day.
