I think Coach Amber very much has it in her to bench Amari if the backups were better.
But onus is still on coach Amber to recruit to get that depth here.
So yeah tough situation all around. Perhaps a reason for AD TH not to lean into the play of hiring Amber to try to get the star recruit daughter. Because if things go sour, then it gets more ugly with the accusations of nepotism.
On the other hand, our women's bball program wasn't elite and already wasn't recruiting at an elite level when coach Amber was hired. So it's understandable to do an outside the box move to attempt to strike "gold" and build more interest for the program.
