I know I’m in the minority here but I think it’s weird.

Do the parents think they’re being charitable? They aren’t giving up anything.

Maybe they should have said “instead of giving US gifts this year we could all go to the giving machines” and lead by example.

We save up for gifts for our kids AND parents every year. If I got this announcement from my parents I’d be sad for sure…

Kind thing of seems backwards to me but whatever.
