On the contrary - and with reason to be optimistic - NCAA has been on the losing
end of nearly every single decision regarding their restrictive rules. This is really just another step in that ladder. It is arbitrary to declare that someone is restricted to a certain number of years of college athletics. If they are able to be enrolled in school, they should be allowed to participate in that schools athletic team. I went to school at BYU undergraduate and law school for 7 years. I should have been permitted to play for my school every year.
If I went to JC and then figured out life and went to BYU, I should be able to play for BYU every year that I am going to school there. The arbitrary restriction on total numbers of years of eligibility has no basis, and like other NCAA name image and likeness restrictions should not be enforced.
