Giving conference champions automatic byes is not always deserving.

Klatt is correct that Oregon is getting a raw deal by playing Ohio State/Tennessee.

However, conference champions should be rewarded. If legitimately ranked top 4, then give them a bye. Otherwise, guarantee the conference champions a home game playoff.
