the SEC is reality for the committee. Any loss in the SEC is better than any win in the Big 12 right now. The B1G did it right, limiting it's top teams from exposure to other top teams. The SEC just has the aura going on full tilt, having so many 3-loss teams in the top 15 of the rankings. If the B1G teams that are 11-0 and 10-1 were instead 9-2 or 8-3, they would also be ranked below most SEC teams right now.
Overall as a conference, there are no Purdue's, Rutgers, Marylands, UCLAs, Northwesterns, or MSUs in the Big 12, but we don't get any points for being competitive from top to bottom.
