BYU has squeaked by all year, analytics don't like them
Other teams rated higher have generally played better. Looking purely at record and not how BYU has played makes BYU look better, while looking at how they played makes them look worse.
Basically if BYU replayed its season they are just as likely to be 7-4 as 9-2 if they didn't catch a couple breaks.
