BYU fans should be worried. The way to becoming my a coach at a P4 program for
someone like Hill isn’t as a DC for a BYU level team. Maybe as a DC for a top tier team like Alabama or Georgia, sure but not BYU.
As a DC at BYU what HC jobs at other FBS teams are realistic? Look at BYU, Utah and similarly situated teams and where have coordinators gone to improve their situation?
If a P4 head coaching job is his goal, this is likely his fastest way at achieving as much. His other option might be to go to a Georgia, Texas, Alabama type school as a DC and trying to parlay that but does he even have those connections to those programs?
