If it's no big deal why are you here?...And why are you responding to my post? Parent of a player or something?
Also, the "it's just a bunch of college kids" means nothing to me. I went to Army basic training with a bunch of 17-18 year old kids, many of whom saw combat, some of whom actually died. For them mistakes didn't mean on to 2nd down or on to the next game. Mistakes had real consequences. (I will go ahead and say that I never had to see combat, never deployed to a conflict area, got paid more, and my life was extremely cushy compared to theirs after basic. I'm proud of what I did, but I'm not going to compare my sacrifice to theirs.) At the time they got paid less than what scholarship players make in compensation. Their housing wasn't as good, neither was the food. Not to mention the attention and the fame our players get. If such standards and excellence can be expected of 18 year old kids why can't our players, who are much better off all because they play football, be held to high standards to do the thing they are getting paid to do?
