100%, they misjudged their depth badly
Nowhere is that more evident than at QB, but across the whole offense they've had a bunch of guys who have been misses (or at least not yet ready) after being expected to be major contributors

It seems pretty obvious that sign stealing was a big part of Utah's success

The Pac 12 also just sucked. Oregon looks elite, Arizona State and Colorado look

They stole signs to make their offense better? Their defense is still top ten.

They haven’t exactly played any offensive juggernauts

Their D efficiency is 8th in the country which accounts for strength of offense

Except the majority of teams still go no huddle and have to signal in from the sideline just like they did before.

I believe that, when they go no-huddle, the QB calls the play from the line based on the comm unit or pre selected plays

Are you saying that the helmet comms only work with a huddle?

Don't they cut off with x amount of time left on the play clock?
No touching

The QB can hear it, but most of the time the WR don't come within earshot of the QB so they have to signal anyway.

Not obvious to me at all.

Has their defense been that much worse?

Not true. Their defense is still elite.
Boring
Nov 3, 7:04am
Or they lost their QB, their (to be) NFL RB, their NFL WR, and two NFL OL and their only spark last year (Vaki at RB/S)

So much for elite depth / next man up.

Same thing for Michigan. Sign stealing was a real thing.
