I think it’s the opposite. If it didn’t have LOTR associated with it people
wouldn’t be hyper critical like you.
A bunch of things you call out are pretty typical things that happen in all kinds of shows and movies, including really good ones. Including LOTR movies even. Like how many times in LOTR do invading orc armies get surprised by someone on the good side like Gandalf or the riders of Rohan or whoever?
