in 1896. He died in the Provo mental hospital about 30 years later because somehow he supposedly went insane. There are many different stories/rumors of what happend to him from getting hit in the head by a board, to getting kicked, to mental illness. Part of me wonders if he got concusions playing football for BYU that caused issues. It was incredibly sad to read how he was confined and physically restrained for many years at the Provo mental hospital to end his life.
