My brother went down this same path at about age 15 or 16.
Got him in a few months of rehab. He was forced to be clean. Then he got out and within 2 days was using again. Struggled for a year or 2 then practically hit rock bottom and went to rehab again. When he got out that time my dad practically forced him to move out of state so he would at least have to travel 1000 miles to get back with the same group of friends. It actually worked and he was clean for a handful of years, went to college, got married, got a good job. Then his wife cheated on him and they went through a nasty divorce (he even spent time in jail for false physical abuse accusations) and then for the last 2 years he's ghosted everyone, including all family. We don't even know if he's alive or not, haven't heard anything from him. But we assume he's back into old ways. Hopefully he gets it turned around again. Sad
